Diana

Diana is a depression glass pattern made by the Federal Glass Company from 1937 to 1941. The colors it came in were green, pink, crystal and amber. As with other depression glass patterns pink is the collectors choice.  Hard to find items in the Diana pattern are the salt and pepper set, candy jar and tumblers.

Because it is a swirled pattern Diana is a patten that can be confused with other depression glass patterns that feature a swirled design.  As with collecting any depression glass, do your research before buying.

Beware of the pink bowl that was reproduced in 1987.

Columbia

Columbia depression glass was made by the Federal Glass Company from 1938 to 1942. It’s beaded design almost reminds me of Imperial Candlewick.  Most Columbia  items you will find are crystal however, some  items have been found in pink.  The pink items are pretty rare finds.

Colonial Fluted

Made from 1928-1933 the Federal Glass Company Colonial Fluted  pattern is a great choice for those on a budget. If your looking to purchase for regular use Colonial Fluted is a good choice. Moderately priced and available Colonial Fluted has a very nice depression glass look. It came in crystal and green with the green being the collected color. Crystal Colonial Fluted is very inexpensive but somewhat boring.

Parrot

Parrot depression glass was made by the Federal Glass Company between 1931 and 1932. Parrot was made in green and amber. The amber pieces have sky rocketed in value in the past few years. Hot plates have been very strong in value. Very few green 80 ounce pitchers are known to exist and the values are in the thousands of dollars if you are lucky enough to find one. The more common plates and bowls are more affordable for the collector who is just starting out.
